Water Fun

I took the kids to the spraygrounds at Celebration Park on Friday (yes, ALL by MYSELF!!). We had great weather and soooo much fun!

Jack played AROUND the water for a while until he was so wet that he finally went in. He's a "just put my toe in" kinda guy....

Lyla screamed and cried for about 10 minutes and when she realized we weren't going home...she went on in. She's more of a "jump right in" kinda girl...

Jack 's first dentist appointment

After several insurance "issues", Jack finally had his first visit to the dentist! Here he is in the waiting room....

Jack counted his teeth for the hygienist -- all 19 of 'em (we're still waiting on a molar). Then the dentist came and cleaned his teeth for him. He was a little freaked out when the chair reclined and when they turned on that super-bright light...but he did VERY well.

Bad Hair Day

Jack was playing so quietly in the kitchen and I heard him blowing something. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was blowing 6 (he had flash cards out) --when I went in to see what was going on -- i found the ENTIRE salt shaker poured out onto the flash cards, the floor, the chairs, Jack's nose and chin, etc....... Here's what it looked like, minus the cards...

early summer fun

We met our friends, Mandy and Brett, at the park spraygrounds tonight. It's hard to believe it's already "swimsuit" season??? I was so happy that Jack actually played in the water...

It was warm (80s) but VERY windy -- Brett decided early on that he did not want to play in the water, and he opted for the playground instead. Brett waiting for Jack to come down the slide...

Sears pictures

Lyla had her picture taken at Sears this weekend. We managed to get a couple with Jack, too! She had her one year well-visit this morning and is in the 95th percentile for weight and height but "only" the 85th for head circumference (unlike her brother). She was 31 1/4" tall and 24# 5 oz. Can't believe only a year ago she was less than 7 pounds!!!!

Lyla's b-day celebration (part one)

We took a trip to the Owen's Spring Creek Farm today to celebrate Lyla's first birthday! Jack has school tomorrow so we decided to do something fun today and then have presents and cake tomorrow after Matt's home from work.

The Circus

We went to the Carson & Barnes Circus today! It was about 60 degrees with 30 mile an hour wind gusts --but it was fine under the big top. This circus comes to town every year and this was Jack's second trip (plus our friends Mandy, Seth and Brett joined us again). Here are just a few pictures from our fun afternoon!
