more warm days

Jack has just started wanting to pull Lyla in the wagon. Unfortunately it takes twice as long to get home...
up to no good, I'm sure...
I LOVE this pictue!

bath time

I was playing with Lyla's abundance of hair tonight in the bathtub... I think it's a good look for her! (Not sure what she's doing with her hand.....)

Enjoying the Texas "winter"

Here are some more pictures from another day at our neighborhood park last week. Jack very much wanted to push Lyla in the swing. Once I helped him figure out how to push the swing (NOT his sister out of the swing), I got a few cute pictures. In other news, Lyla had her 9 month well-visit today and was a little over 21 pounds and about 28 1/2 inches. She was not very happy about the 2 shots she received, but she's a little trooper!

A day at the park

It got up to 80 degrees last Saturday (don't worry -- Monday's high was around 34 with freezing rain) so we took the kids to the park to play and feed the ducks.

A tooth!

Lyla's first tooth poked through right after Christmas
Lyla, chewing on her crib after a nice nap. Little stinker!

Playing with presents after Christmas

Jack got several games for Christmas -- here he is getting ready to play Hi-Ho Cherry-o

Christmas morning

A few pictures of the kids Christmas morning...
Lyla can hardly wait to open presents -- it is her FIRST Christmas, afterall!
Santa brought Jack the TAG reader
...and he brought Lyla this fun toy with balls and lights and music and spinny things!

Gingerbread people

I made gingerbread cookies (from a box) and Jack helped me decorate them. We left a few for Santa, each ate one .... and the rest ended up in the trash. Not the best cookies I've ever made, but we had fun!

We went to see the light show in Frisco, but this year they added many more attractions. Here's Jack enjoying a bounce house...
That poor, flattened, kid...
Mommy and Jack
It was time to go and Jack saw some girls spinning and falling. He had to give it a try before we left...
Falling.......the best part!
Daddy and Jack

Lyla is literally doing something new every day. She started waving, then clapping, and now she shakes her head no. Jack thinks it's hilarious and will shake his head to get her to do it OVER and OVER again. Here's a clip of some of her new "tricks" and of her trying to pull up to stand at the couch. I can never seem to catch it on camera....oh well.

church clothes

The kids looked so cute in their Christmas church clothes that I HAD to take their picture! They will probably wear them again at the Christmas eve service, but I never know when they'll cooperate for a picture so I had to take it while I could!
Lyla's face is a little chapped since she sleeps on her tummy in a pool of drool, but I think most of the reddish color in this picture is being reflected off her dress.

Finally -- our Christmas lights are up!

I had to post these pictures for a comparison... This first one of Jack and Frosty was Dec. 2006 (he was just over 1 year old)
Jack, at 2 years old -Dec. 2007 (baby Lyla in my tummy)
WOW! Jack , now age 3 -- I took this picture last night.
Me and my babies!

Some Holiday pics

Our homeowners association did a visit with Santa thingy. We took the kids -- Lyla screamed the whole time and Jack was "politely" afraid of Santa. Here's the best photo I got.
We had some warm evening weather so we went to drop off toys for a local outreach program and visit the reindeer again. You can sort of see one over Jack's shoulder...
We were going to write a letter to Santa, since Jack could pretty much write it by himself, but he doesn't really understand the concept of wanting something and asking Santa for it?? Maybe next year.
What a happy girl!
I was trying to get a picture of the whole tree so I actually laid ( lay, lied?? whatever) down on the grass and looked up at the tree.

Trip to San Antonio

We finally took our vacation to San Antonio last week. We got a portable DVD player so Jack got to watch "Cars" on the way there and after we stopped for lunch, he took a nap. Lyla took two naps before and after lunch. It was a nice drive and we're so lucky the kids did so well. When we got to our hotel, they didn't have our 1 bedroom suite so they had to put us in a TWO bedroom suite! Here are some hotel pics: This is Jack and Daddy's room. After buying him a kid-sized sleeping bag and air mattress, he didn't want to sleep on it. Luckily, we had THREE queen sized beds!
