Hokey Pokey

One of the funniest things my adorable son does is the hokey pokey. Every time he puts his booty "in" and "out" (never at the right time) and then "shakes it all about" - I laugh until my cheeks hurt. The other night I decided to record him and he fell while "turning himself around"....he has watched this clip now a dozen times and laughs hysterically every time he sees himself fall. I figured it was worth a post! Enjoy!

Lyla is FOUR months old...

Lyla had her four month well-visit on Monday and she weighed 15 pounds (80th percentile) and was 25 1/2 inches long (85th percentile). Her head was 16 1/4 inches and is ONLY the 60th percentile. Quite different from Jack at this age. His head was the biggest measurement (percentile) until he hit 2 years old!! She's about a pound smaller and a half inch shorter than he was at four months. She's been eating rice cereal the past 3 days and will be on to Oatmeal for the next 3 days and then we start yellow/orange veggies! She seems to be getting the hang of eating from a spoon and lights up when she sees that spoon coming at her!!You can see one of the band-aids (pink camouflage) from her four shots....poor girl.

More firsts for Lyla

On Wednesday, Lyla rolled from her back to her tummy for the first time!! Later that day, she also laughed out loud for the first time. She's so much more coordinated than Jack was at this age. He didn't roll from back to front until he was 6 months old!

Party-time!

On Saturday, we went to a book release party for my friend, and former 5th grade co-worker, Jodie. She writes, among other things, romance suspense novels. Her first book was published and released on Tuesday and she had a book signing Saturday afternoon and then a party that night. Her novel (the first in a series of 5) is about a group of firefighters so there were a few fireman's hats around. Jack really enjoyed playing with them...Posing in a REAL fireman's hat

Friday Fun

Lyla's first time in the doorway jumper...

Jack and I made a counting book with stamps. I went outside for a minute to let the dogs out -- and when I came back in I found him with stamps ALL over his arms and legs and even one on his cheek! Crazy kid!
