Jack's picture day at school. It was a bit chilly (60s) and he doesn't have many nice long sleeved shirts -oops- so this is what he wore. I did his hair in a faux-hawk.
Lyla's Kindermusik class dressed up for Halloween, but Lyla's witch costume wasn't intended for cool weather so she just wore a Halloween onesie, "Baby's First Boo".
...petting Kirby...
Jack likes to lay down on us when we're on the floor playing with Lyla. Then he pops up and says "Boo" to her and she busts out laughing. Sorry for his crazy jammie pants. This was after his nap.
Kisses and pats for Kirby.

Doctor appointments

Both kids had doctor appointments last Wednesday. Jack's 3 year well visit and Lyla's 6 month. They look great and are topping the growth charts, as usual. Jack measured 40 1/4 inches tall (98th %) and weighed 41.5 pounds (95th %). Lyla is catching up at 26 1/2 inches tall (Dr. Dan just said in the 90s %) and 18pounds, 7 ounces (80s %), her head is 17 inches (70s %). I guess at Jack's age they don't measure the head anymore. Anyway, Jack and I got flu shots and Lyla got the flu shot and 4 other vaccinations. YOWZA! Poor thing. Jack wore a hospital gown and had his blood pressure taken for the first time. He was totally freaked out by it. They were supposed to check his vision and hearing but decided to try it at Lyla's next appt. (January) hoping he'd be less nervous by then.

More visitors....

Valarie, Evan and Macy came for the kids' Fall break. It was nice to have them here for Lyla's baptism and Jack LOVED having kids to play with! We went to Main Event to bowl, Chuck E. Cheese, The Dallas World Aquarium, swimming at their hotel, and to Amazing Jakes! We had LOTS of fun and got some good pictures...

Lyla's baptism

Lyla was baptized on Saturday. My sister, nephew, and niece were here - so hopefully I'll get some of their pictures to post. We got the ceremony on video tape but only a couple of pictures on our camera...
The private ceremony (no church service) was nice except for the fact that she was baptized as "Kate Lynn Fischer" -minor technicality. Hopefully it still counts!

Big boy and little witch

Jack's new "Big Bed" with Lightning McQueen sheets...
It's a full bed!
Jack and I had dinner on the patio the other night.
I finally found a costume for Lyla....she'll be the sweetest witch around!

having fun....

I got Jack's Chicken Dance Elmo out the other day and Lyla was totally into it...
mmm...tastes like chicken
I'm sure Lyla will be crawling any day now. She gets up on her hands and knees and either pushes herself backwards or lunges forward with both hands in the air, landing on her chest.
Lyla in her new "big girl" tub .....I love each and every roll!

The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

We went to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm again this year...only this time we had another family member! Jack was still a little unsure about feeding the animals and Lyla was just kinda' taking it all in. But they both seemed to enjoy the hayride. Jack picked out his own pumpkin this year and he got to choose "Lylie's pun'kin". It was a beautiful, sunny day and we had a great time! Both kids fell asleep in the car about 5 minutes after we hit the road. You can look back in the archived posts at October 2007 and notice how much Jack has grown since last year's trip to the farm. WOW! Lyla was in my belly then and I remember that I couldn't fit in my regular jeans so I wore maternity ones and kept hoping no one would notice that they were too big!
