Lyla had her one month doctor appointment yesterday and weighed 10 pounds and was 22 inches long. Jack, at one month, was only 9 pounds 8 ounces, but was 22 3/4 inches long. She gained almost 2 pounds and grew 1 1/4 inches in TWO WEEKS!!
I tried to get a picture of the two of them sitting together but Jack was in a big hurry to get down and play. He's still not very interested in "posing" for pictures with his baby sister.
Poor Jack! He was on the bed, leaning onto Lyla's crib to get "baby Wy-wa's unicorn" and must've slipped. All I heard was a thud and some screaming (I was in the room changing her diaper) and after I picked him up to cuddle for a bit, noticed that he was bleeding pretty badly from the mouth. We got the blood washed away and I discovered that he had somehow scraped his gums right above his front two teeth!! It looks like the teeth are fine and he seemed to be ok very quickly--but this morning, I noticed how swollen his top lip is. Here's a picture I took of him at the park this morning.
Jack enjoying the hanging toys. I told him he loved to play with the duck when he was a baby and he seemed excited about that.
Here's a picture of Jack at one month old, playing with the kick and play. He and Lyla look similar, but thank goodness she doesn't have the Archie Bunker hair-style happening yet!
Jack actually kissed Lyla on the cheek but, of course, when we tried to get a picture of it...this is all he would do. Oh well, there will be plenty more opportunities, I'm sure!
